Bitcoin Whale Breaks Silence After 4 Years: $381 Million at Stake – U.Today

Bitcoin’s blockchain has recorded a flawless on-chain maneuver, putting a huge amount of liquidity at stake. A major investor completely emptied his transit wallet, “bc1qlnexsqagmk27ju9dmmvj47016…,” transferring 4,500 BTC ($381.38 million) to a brand-new, clean address, “bc1qpls5rs7z53avm0k6ohh40y301….”.

The donor wallet, whose history analysts had tracked for several years, now has an absolute zero balance as per Arkham Intelligence data.

What makes this transaction notable is not so much the amount as the context. Exactly four years ago, the same amount of coins arrived at this address, valued at an estimated $187.38 million. The owner of the capital rode out a prolonged market downturn, completely ignored Bitcoin’s 2025 all-time high, when the coins at this address were worth more than $600 million, and moved the funds only now, with Bitcoin holding at $84,070.

Four years of absolute silence for double the profit. Breaking down an OG whale’s maneuver.

The transaction history on Arkham reveals the operation’s deep roots. The emptied hub is directly linked to one of the oldest mining networks, which collectively controls around 33,000 BTC.

This entire trove is split into tranches of exactly 4,500 coins per wallet, and the chain’s earliest transactions date back to 2010, when the network was being built by a handful of cypherpunks and Bitcoin was worth pennies.

The fact that such a large amount was moved “in one click” to an empty address, with no splitting, temporarily eases pressure on the retail market. The whale did not send the coins to exchanges such as Binance or Coinbase, so the spot market barely noticed the transaction, holding on to its 3.6% weekly gain.

The crypto market may have just witnessed either a planned migration to new private keys or preparation for a large, private OTC deal that will take place entirely outside exchange order books.
