Key Takeaways
- XRP could skip a final push toward $1.70 and head directly toward $1.27.
- A deeper pullback could test $1.10 while leaving the broader bullish structure intact.
- A breakout toward $1.80 could turn $1.65 from resistance into support.
XRP Could Skip Its Final Rally and Head Toward $1.27
XRP remains below resistance near $1.65 as its narrowing trading range approaches a potential turning point. Crypto analyst CasiTrades said the token could make one more advance toward roughly $1.70, but her wave-count interpretation also allows the correction to begin without another high.
In an Oct. 6 XRP analysis, she described the smaller consolidation as nearing the point where its trend lines converge. In her framework, a fifth wave would represent one final advance before a larger retreat, but XRP does not always complete that final leg.
That leaves $1.27 as a major area to watch if the pullback begins first, with $1.10 providing another possible support zone if selling deepens. The analyst explained:
“Holding $1.27 or $1.10 would support the new-trend structure I’ve been tracking. A new low near ~$0.90 would reset the count and extend the timing, but the most important thing for the new trend is simply not making a new low.”
Her accompanying four-hour XRP/U.S. dollar chart showed the asset near $1.51 and below the $1.65 barrier. The analyst treats that area as an important resistance zone, while the lower levels represent potential support during a broader retracement.
The projected downside zones are based on Fibonacci retracement levels, a technical-analysis method traders use to identify possible support and resistance after a price move. Under the analyst’s scenario, holding either $1.27 or $1.10 would preserve the broader structure she is tracking, while a new low near $0.90 would force her to reset the wave count.
XRP Still Has a Path Toward $1.70 Before a Pullback
The more bullish near-term path would see XRP advance toward approximately $1.70 before turning lower. Such a move would complete the final leg in the analyst’s current wave interpretation rather than sending the asset directly into the projected correction.
If that rally develops, she plans to monitor the relative strength index, or RSI, a momentum indicator that compares the strength of recent gains and losses. She is watching for bearish divergence, which occurs when price reaches a higher peak while the indicator produces a lower one.
The analyst views that divergence as a possible sign that a larger top is forming. Without the final advance, however, XRP could move into its retracement sooner and bring the $1.27 area into focus.
A Move Toward $1.80 Could Flip $1.65 Into Support
A stronger breakout would create a different setup. Her analysis allows for an advance toward roughly $1.80 that could give XRP enough room to retreat afterward and test the $1.65 area from above.
Holding that former ceiling as support would be a major sign of strength in her analysis. Instead of dropping directly toward the lower retracement zones, XRP would potentially turn the $1.65 barrier into a floor.
The same threshold also appears in Peter Brandt’s possible bullish XRP chart pattern. The veteran trader shared a daily chart on Oct. 5 with a horizontal line at $1.6572 and a coffee cup suggesting a possible cup-and-handle formation, a pattern marked by a rounded recovery followed by a smaller pullback before a potential breakout.
XRP Futures Turnover Hits $56.18B on 3 Exchanges as Binance Liquidations Ease
Trading activity in XRP derivatives has also remained elevated. XRP futures turnover across Binance, Bybit and OKX totaled about $56.18 billion in September, an Oct. 6 Cryptoquant analysis found. Futures are contracts tied to an asset’s price, and their volume measures trading activity rather than new capital flowing directly into XRP.
At the same time, XRP liquidation pressure on Binance eased after repeated spikes from late July through September, a separate Oct. 2 Cryptoquant assessment found. A liquidation is the forced closure of a leveraged position when its collateral can no longer support the trade.
That assessment said sustained gains would still require spot demand alongside supportive volume and price structure.
Analyst Keeps $10, $13 and $16 XRP Targets in View
The different near-term paths do not change the analyst’s broader strategy. She said: “Either way, my plan really doesn’t change. I’m buying major fibs!”
She expects additional retracements if the larger uptrend she is tracking develops, creating potential entry points as smaller waves unfold within that broader structure. The analyst added:
“If we’re truly pivoting into the new trend I’ve been tracking, we’re going to have plenty of retracements to buy in as the subwaves develop toward $10, $13, $16 and beyond. Don’t sleep on these prices today!”
Those double-digit targets remain conditional on the broader uptrend taking shape, while the near-term path could still lead toward $1.70, $1.80, or support near $1.27.
